Stacking The Shelves #4

Stacking The Shelves #4

Hello bookworms! I’m back to share with you a little book haul of physical books I’ve added to my shelves since April [which was the last time I came to you guys with a book haul]. I have acquired quite a few books that I’m pretty proud of so let’s get into it!

Throne Of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I’m in total and complete love with Maas’s entire Throne of Glass series!

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas

Once again, the same reason as Throne of Glass – I LOVE THIS SERIES. This is the second book in the series and it blew my mind! So much action, so much mystery, so much craziness.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

Fae, magic, mystery, action, betrayal – this third installment in the Throne of Glass series had me hooked from start to finish and is currently leaving me out to dry while I wait for Queen of Shadows to be released! AGH, I WANT IT NOW.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

Okay, technically I don’t have it yet, but as soon as I finished Crown of Midnight, I pre-ordered this book. I’M SO. DAMN. EXCITED.

A Court Of Thorns And Roses By Sarah J Maas

Five Sarah J Maas books in one haul! It’s obvious who is my favourite author of the year so far! I just can’t get enough of her writing and her stories and this book has been going around the blogosphere and the booktube community so much, it’s killing me that I’m not reading it right now.

Paper Towns by John Green

I loved this book and gave it a 5/5 stars!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I bought this book from the secondhand store and I looked at it for a long time before peeling it off the shelf. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to jump onto the Vampire Academy bandwagon, but I thought why not give it a try? Do any of you like or love Vampire Academy?

The Rogue by Trudi Canavan

Got this totally on a whim. Once again, I found this in the secondhand store for about $3. It looked interesting, then I realised it was the second book in a series! Oh well, maybe I’ll buy the first one or find it in the library.

Arrival by Charlotte McConaghy

Now this book sounded incredibly interesting! I read the blurb and thought, this sounds so cool. And so I bought from the secondhand store.

The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriot

The Swan Kingdom

Once again, found at the secondhand store. The cover is so pretty, but it kind of looks a little bit middle-grade to me. BUT, never judge a book by it’s cover! [I’m such a hypocrite since I judge books by there cover ALL THE TIME]

The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

I’ve been meaning to pick up this book for a long time. I’m a Christian and many people I know love this book. I read the first part of it once and thought it sounded wonderful. So, I got it from the secondhand store.

Praise by Andrew McGahan

This one was another totally random one from the secondhand store, but I thought that ti might be interesting and it’s Australian based! [I live in Australia if you didn’t know]

The Walking Dead: Book One

Got this lovely graphic novel from my local library! I was so excited to see they had these kinds of things at my library! I honestly never looked around. I found that they also have Saga at my library however sadly, I think someone is borrowing the first one. I LOVED the Walking Dead PC game so I’m so excited to read this.

So that is all for this installment of Stacking The Shelves! I’m excited to read all these books, especially Vampire Academy – I want to finally jump on that bandwagon! Tell me down in the comments some recent books you’ve added to your shelves!

  1. I honestly have no idea who Sarah J. Maas is, but those are some fancy shmancy (<-wasn't sure how to spell that word) covers! Seriously, those would make for some very nice posters. And I don't think Mitch Albom has ever written a mediocre book. I read two or three of his in high school and thoroughly enjoyed them.

    • Oh dear, I think you should check out her books then… I don’t know how you’d feel about her series but the covers are definitely INCREDIBLE and I’m a complete utter lover of the series.
I’m excited to hear you say that! I can’t wait to read his book.
      Thanks for stopping by!

      • I don’t know. Based solely on the covers, I imagine there’s no detectives running around catching murderers and serial killers in her books. And that’s like 90% of my reading. Ha. Have you not read any of Mitch Albom’s work before?

      • Oh no detectives but there’s definitely a lot of killing – in fact the main character is an assassin! But it’s a fantasy novel with a bit of romance and a lot of action and killing I’d say.
        Unfortunately no!

      • Haha my experience reading about assassins hasn’t been great. Oh! Tuesday With Morrie! I won’t recommend it (cause I don’t do that) but it just so happens to be by Mitch Albom. That’s all I’ll say. 😂

  3. Great haul! I really need to read the Throne of Glass series! I love the covers so I definitely to buy them.haha
I have the whole entire Vampire Academy series (I fell into the hype) though I haven’t read them yet. I hope I won’t get disappointed because everyone seems to have loved it.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven is such a great book and is one of my favorites. Hopefully you will like it, too! 🙂

      • Ahaha yes definitely. Other than Twilight (which was a disappoint for me) I haven’t read many vampire stories. I guess I won’t set my expectations too high for this book.

  4. Everyone’s been reading the Vampire Academy. I feel like I’m being left out! 😛 Please tell me if the graphic novel of TWD is better than on TV. Thanks! 😀

    • Yeah, that’s how I fee about Vampire Academy!

  5. Looks like you have gotten quite the number of books! ❤ Sarah J. Maas is a wonderful author, I agree! We should pair up for a read-along/buddy read for A Court of Thorns and Roses, don't you think? 😛 I personally liked VA, however the protagonist, Rose, kind of got on my nerves in the first few books. I guess it was mostly because she was really concerned about being popular and was a bit too arrogant for my taste. But as I continued the series, I definitely liked her more! 🙂 Hope you enjoy your books!
