Rip It Or Ship It?
Hello bookworms! Today is Thursday and I can’t think of a discussion topic, so instead, I’m going to do something I’ve seen floating around the BookTube for a while now – the Rip It Or Ship It Tag!
Basically what you do is you write down an even amount of characters from books you’ve read on individual pieces of paper, fold them and put them all together and then shuffle and pick out two names and discuss whether you ship the couple or rip the couple! They can be from any and all books of your choice.
Let’s do this!
Zoey from the House of Night series & Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy
Hm… These two characters are both strong and both very powerful. I think they would compliment each other well. They both strive to be a good person and do good things with their power and as a duo, I think they would be pretty awesome. So, I ship this!
Chaol from the Throne of Glass series & Tessa from the Infernal Devices trilogy
Oooooh! First of all, I love Chaol. He is strong, loyal, dedicated to his duties. I think he and Tessa would make a really great couple. Tessa is also a really strong character, determined and I can really imagine the two of them together. In a way, Chaol reminds me of Jem too. So, I SHIP THIS.
Tris from the Divergent trilogy & Prince Maxon from The Selection series
Oh my. I honestly am not sure what I think about these two together. Tris is a bit of a daredevil, she’s tough and willing to go to extremes, as seen in Divergent. Maxon is so incredibly sweet and a prince charming in all aspects. I don’t think Maxon could really keep up with Tris and vice versa. Tris would probably get bored of Maxon, in my opinion. So, I’ll have to rip this.
Mare from Red Queen & Jem from The Infernal Devices trilogy
Um, okay I don’t know. I love Jem. He’s a sweet heart, he’s so kind, charming and noble. Mare is… well, I think she’s caught up with enough guys as it is. Mare is very indecisive, but I think they might do well together. I don’t know. Maybe. I think Mare would really like Jem, if she managed to not change her mind. So I’m not sure, I think I’ll rip this but tell me what you guys think!
America from The Selections series & Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings
NOPE. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. I rip this.
Leo Valdez from The Heroes of Olympus series & Dorian from Throne of Glass
Oh my goodness, I can see this working. Leo is my baby, I love him to death. He’s so funny, a little sarcastic. Dorian is our prince. He’s kind and he’s a smooth talker. I can see them bringing out the best in each other, I think it would be a good relationship! I ship it! XD
Celaena from Throne of Glass & Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments
I don’t know what to say about this. I think Magnus would be totally into Celaena. But Celaena? I don’t think she would really be into Magnus and all his glitter. Also, she probably wouldn’t like his preferences in past suitors. Magnus might be a little thrown off by Celaena’s aggressiveness, sarcastic nature and tendency for violence. So I’d have to say, I rip this.
Warner from Shatter Me & Raffe from the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy
Oh my gosh, hold on and let me breath. *Laughs for 5 minutes straight*. Now this is hilarious. Can you just imagine possessive Warner, trying to get Raffe to admit to wanting him and being with him? Just… just imagine it. HAHAHA. Oh, and the way Raffe would react. Oh my, I can’t handle it, I can’t stop laughing. I rip this so much.
Margo from Paper Towns & Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices
This might work. Maybe. Margo is all for adventure, and she’s slightly similar to Will. Will, as many of you know because I know many of you are big fans of Will, is sarcastic, witty and quite a brooding character, but he is a show off and loves to go off and fight demons and such. I can see them both being together, just because of their sense of adventure. I ship it? Maybe?
Aphrodite from the House of Night series & Katniss from The Hunger Games
HA. Nope this won’t work. Aphrodite is a total b-word. Of course, she does have a little bit of a kindness, deep DEEP down inside but other than that, she’s snarky, sarcastic, quite a snob. Katniss would just not tolerate it. She’d probably run an arrow through Aphrodite’s heart the moment she opened her mouth. I rip it.
Penryn from Angelfall & Cath from Fangirl
I can see this happening. Penryn is strong and sure of herself and I think she would really help Cath come out of her shell. I can see this working! I ship it.
Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses & Arya from The Inheritance Cycle
Um… This could probably be like ACOTAR between two girls. Except Arya is not a beast, she’s an Elf. But I don’t think these two characters personalities would align very well. I think they would kind of clash. So I rip this.
Peeta from The Hunger Games & Legolas from The Lord of the Rings
Oh my, I think this might be able to work out. Legolas is like, the male version of Katniss in a way that they both are bad-asses with a bow and arrow. Legolas is very quiet and brooding and Peeta is, well Peeta. I THINK I will ship this.
Rowan from the Throne of Glass series & Kenji from Shatter Me
Oh my goodness gracious! This is fabulous! I’m giggling right now. Kenji is so funny, makes jokes out of everything. Rowan is a serious warrior. No way would Rowan be able to stand being with Kenji for even 10 minutes! They’re both so amazingly different, but maybe in this case we can say, opposites attract? Renji? I ship it!!!!
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
