Month in Review | June

Hello bookworms and welcome back! It’s the last day of June… how fast has this month gone? Like, seriously! Since it’s the end of the month, it’s only fitting that I look back and give you a rewind of my amazing month. Let’s get started shall we?

Life

The month of June for me was a month of relaxation. Exams were over and I was almost reaching my school holidays. I’m so stoked to say that I have 3 days left of school, then I get a 2 week break! (Then I’ve got to go back to school again, ugh.)

June was my birthday month! Yay! I turned 17. I’m still a baby among all my friends and classmates. But it was an amazing birthday. I received lots of love from family and friends and I also went out for a nice lunch/afternoon tea with my three best friends (plus one of my best friend’s boyfriend). We ate Nandos (chicken… yum.) and then we proceeded to have dessert at San Churros! Which, was delicious. I got to have a mango smoothie, which is my favourite drink EVER.

Blog

In the life of my blog this month, things were very lively. I teamed up with Bibliophile Gathering to do an amazing read along of the book A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. Not only was the book amazing, but we got a huge turn out of people who participated and discussed with us over the month.

I managed to post almost every single day of this month which was fantastic. And something even bigger and better was that I recieved 200 followers this month! Honestly, I’m over the moon about it, even now. I never thought I’d get past 50, to be honest. But you guys are all so supportive and interactive, and I love coming here each day to talk with you all. Okay, I better stop before I start getting emotional.

Book of the Month

I can’t pick one book as a favourite this month. All the books I read were 5 star books (almost). So I’d have to say that ALL the books I read this month were favourites. Click here to see my bookish wrap up for the month!

Music of the Month

Earned It by The Weeknd has been my obsession all month. I have not seen the Fifty Shades of Grey movie (and I don’t plan to) but this song… the moment I heard it, I knew that this song and I were meant to be. The beat is hypnotic!

Sparks by Hilary Duff is a song that I discovered in the latter part of this month, but I have to include it. I’ve been playing this on repeat for the past week or so. It’s so catchy and I find myself singing it in my head and out loud, at random!

Show of the Month

Gossip Girl is currently my TV show obsession. I adore it. I love the drama, the glitz and glamour and being in the lives of rich people. And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t watch this because of the attractive boys… I mean just look at this image. Dan is bae.

This. Movie. Is. Hilarious. Cameron Diaz is fabulous and just the entire story of this movie was fun to watch. It had me laughing consistently.

And that is it for the review of my month! I hope you enjoyed seeing the rewind of my month and the miscellaneous things I’ve been loving over it’s course. Tell me in the comments what your favourite song of the month was, what your favourite show was, or anything else about your month! I’d love to hear what you have to share.

  2. Earned It and Sparks are definitely quite catchy, I agree! XD I watched a few episodes of Gossip Girl, but I’ve been busy watching other shows (like Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries) and reading, so I haven’t continued much. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to watch more of Gossip Girl this summer! 🙂

Hopefully you do! I want to catch up and finish all the seasons but with the way I’m going, I doubt I will be done until the end of this year! 😂

  6. Oh, my! Two of my favorite songs! However, Earned It beats Sparks by miles. I actually loved 50 Shades of Grey, the movie. Well, I liked the book too, and of course, the movie left out a ton of details. But overall, I really liked it. I haven’t seen The Other Woman yet, but it’s on my list! AND Gossip Girl! One of my favorite TV shows! The ending is so surprising and so amazing! I could watch the whole series over again. 🙂 Hope you enjoy everything!

  7. Great post! I loved the entire 50 Shades soundtrack even though I have no plans of seeing the movie!

Also, I really appreciate that you went to Nando’s on your birthday. It used to be one of my go-to places before I moved to New York. There’s only one Nando’s in the US, and it’s NOT near me. 😦
