Spotlight Saturday is a weekly feature, created by Josie at Josieβs Book Corner [aka, moi], dedicated to spotlighting and pinpointing some of the things over the week that have caught my attention more than usual, things Iβve particularly loved, etc.
Greetings bookworms! Another week has passed and it’s time to wrap it up with aΒ Spotlight SaturdayΒ post. I’ve discovered some wonderful posts and things to share with you, so let’s cut the long into and just jump straight into it.
This week I really want to spotlight Becca @ Becca and Books. She disappeared for a while and I didn’t hear much from her until recently, when she started commenting on my posts. Becca is such an uplifting lady – her comments always seem to make my day with her bubbliness and encouraging words! Plus, she makes some entertaining blog posts.
As usual, the blogosphere has been teeming with life and fabulous posts by awesome bloggers that I admire and love. So let me share some of those with you!Β
Bella @ Ciao Bella posted her second edition of her new feature, known as High Five
Jenny @ Jenny in Neverland gave a list of things she would tell her younger self
Jess @ Princessica of Books had guest blogger, Liv, share her reasons on why she DNFs books
Cait @ Paper Fury sends my excitement into overdrive with her interview with Alwyn Hamilton, author of Rebel of the Sands and even hosts a giveaway!Β
Jeann @ Happy Indulgence shares her thoughts on feminism in books
Currently I am readingΒ The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness, which is the second book in theΒ Chaos Walking trilogy. This is an incredible book. Patrick Ness is a fabulous author and he’s done an amazing job with this series. It’s so tense and compelling! It’s thought provoking and twisted but a total thrill to read. AND I’M ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH.Β
Ah, this is where I must dig through my memory and try and remember some significant things that happened in the past week – honestly, this week has just been full on with university. It’s now if full swing and I’ve got a ton of tasks to complete, assignments to start. But it’s awesome.Β
Everyone is so friendly, the lecturers and tutors are awesome and I honestly love waking up to travel there. I love taking the train and the bus and then spending time walking around campus. It’s the thing I’ve been looking forward to since I was in Year 11. Now it’s finally happening! Woo!Β
There’s this song calledΒ To My KneesΒ by Hillsong Young & Free, from their new album calledΒ Youth RevivalΒ and I love it so much. The piano in this song is gorgeous and the tune of the song is uplifting and soft but also very impactful to me. There’s one line in it that stuck out to me, to the point where I had to write it down:
“In my vacant heart, Lord you came and made a home,
you bring light to the dark in me.”
“But if you executed them, how can it be them?”
“Because an idea lives on after the death of a person.”
This is a quote fromΒ The Ask and the Answer, something that stuck out to me and reminded me of a movie I watched once, that said something very similar (V for Vendetta, if you are ever so curious!)
That’s my spotlights for this weekΒ done andΒ dusted! I hope you all enjoyed seeing what has caught my eye thisΒ week.Β
