An Interview… with Me! // A Blogging Extravaganza

So there’s this thing. It’s called the Get Up Offa That Slump: A Blogging Extravaganza and it’s a project started up by Rachel @ Beauty and the Bookshelf. I heard this idea from another blogger: Wren @ The Bookmato Chronicles and I thought it was a perfect idea to keep the blog posts flowing during my busy time in university, work and life in general.

What is this blogging extravaganza all about, you ask?

“Basically it’s a project that is meant to help those having trouble coming up with blog posts or struggling to find the motivation to post. Here’s what Rachel says about it:

Get Up Offa That Slump: A Blogging Extravaganza is a blogging “challenge” of sorts. There’s really only one goal: to just post something. And the idea isn’t for this to be some outline and pattern of memes and reviews and that’s it. It’s to show you all the things (just a few of the things) you can post on your blog and still keep it bookish. (Because we’re all here for books, right?) And, in short, the focus is on having fun, because if we’re not having fun blogging feels like a job or homework and, well, that’s no fun, right?

This explosion of blogging will last three weeks (more on the actual scheduling is below). Each day (aside from two) will two posting options, and I’ll also be posting each day, along with a Linky so we can all share and roll around in the fun. Feel free to use the banner, but please also link back to this post so people can see what this is all about and join in if they want to. Also: #bloggerextravaganza, if you fancy hashtags.”

Now, Rachel set up a schedule for this, and the first post is going up today, Wednesday the 9th of March. Today, we’ll be doing an interview with ourselves! Woo! How exciting! Let’s jump right on into it, shall we?

Good day to you! Introduce yourself and your latest obsession.

Good day indeed! My name is Josephine Knight, but you can call me Josie for short. My latest obsession is playing piano. It’s a hobby of mine that I love, but lately I’ve been obsessed with learning new songs and playing in general.

Let’s start off with more easy stuff… What are you currently reading and what do you think of it so far?

I’m currently reading The Ask and the Answer, which is the second book in the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness.

I am absolutely loving it so far. Patrick Ness is an incredible writer. It’s so tense and heavy right now but I’m stuck in constant anticipation for what is going to happen next. I LOVE IT.

All right! Another bookish question… What genre of books do you tend to gravitate towards?

I’m a total fantasy lover. Fantasy is my jam, now and forever. I will read fantasy books and I promise you, I would never, ever get sick of them. Other genres I enjoy are historical fiction, YA romance, sci-fi, time travel, things such as those. I’m much more of an adventure time of setting and reading preference.

Do you have any pets?

Are you kidding? I am the biggest cat lover. I could cry looking at some of the adorable cats I see on Instagram (it’s happened before). I have a fluffy grey cat that goes by the name of Lucky. I KNOW. SO UNORIGINAL. But I tell you, he’s the most adorable little thing you have EVER seen.

What do you do besides reading and blogging?

I like to do a lot of things. For one, I love to play piano and sing, as another one of my hobbies. Lesser than writing or blogging, but the weird thing is that it was always the other way around. Music used to come before things like music practice.

I also am a leader of a Youth Group within my church and I love organizing and being a part of it. Leading praise and worship is possibly the best way to get them to calm down – even if it is the turn them up later.

Food that you hate?

I hate bananas and pies with all my heart. THEY’RE DISGUSTING AND I’M SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANYONE.

What fictional fan-base are you on the most

LORD OF THE RINGS. I will forever be a hard core fan of the entire Lord of the Rings franchise. The books are fabulous. The movies? Phenomenal. I watch the movies every single year, more than once a year. You could say I’m a little bit obsessed.

Do you like playing video games?

I love playing video games! My favourite game EVER has to be Skyrim. Oh, I adore that game. It’s like my fantasy books and my dreams COME TO LIFE. Elves, dragons, conflicting kingdoms, wars and magic. Bandits and all that crazy stuff all within an elaborate world.

It’s been so long since I played Skyrim! I miss it now, agh.

I heard that you’re pretty obsessed with organisation

Gurl, don’t even get me started. I’ll say it. I’m quite obsessed. I follow organisation Tumblr blogs. I follow studyblrs on Tumblr. I can spend hours scrolling through images of bullet journals. I read countless articles on the subject of organisation.

Organisation is a part of me.

Your favourite sweet food?

Cheesecake all the way, baby. CHEESECAKE IS LIFE.

That’s the end of the first post in this Blogging Extravaganza! The schedule for this project is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’m excited to see where the rest of this goes and I’m even more excited for people to give feedback. Never be afraid to get involved and pop a comment or two in there! I love seeing all your messages.
