Hello bookworms and welcome back! Oh my, it’s been awhile since my last Spotlight Saturday post, hasn’t it? I’ve missed it! BUT HOORAY, because I am back at it again and I’ve got some blogger love to share, some book love and some life events that I’ve loved over the past few weeks that I’ve been M.I.A of this weekly feature!
So shall we get started? I think we should!
This week and for the past few weeks I have been fangirling over the beauty of this lovely lady’s blog: her name is Alexandra Ling and she owns the blog Twirling Pages which IS THE CUTEST BLOG I’VE EVER SEEN. Her overall blog scheme is feminine, simplistic and so aesthetically pleasing that I could scroll through it for hours without getting bored. My eyes LOVE IT.
Alexandra also takes the most gorgeous photos that correspond perfectly with the theme of her blog and it creates for her, a style that can only be described as her own.
Summer @ Xing Sings summed up her month of January, which was full of many lovely things!
Shannelle @ The Art of Escapism shared her lettering process for quote graphics online which, is divine and she has the most beautiful written print (eek, so jealous!)
Giselle @ A Book and a Cup of Coffee gave us a real talk on book borrowing
Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner mused the developing accessibility we have to our ‘heroes’ AKA authors, and the upsides and downsides to increased accessibility through things such as social media

I’m spotlighting this book this week because initially I was pulled in by the beautiful cover. From there, I ventured to the beloved Goodreads page where I proceeded to read the blurb and do a bit of research on the general gist of the story. I was excited to see that it is based off of the classic Romeo and Juliet story and there’s MENTION OF ZOMBIES – or so, I think. I mean, what else does it mean when they say “the living died and the dead rose”? YAAAAAS, ZOMBIES.

Oh my lovely bookworms, it’s been so LONG since I last told you of the happenings in my life! I’ve got a lot to share, so get ready! (actually, my memory is so bad, so I’m not sure how much I have to share, in all honesty. OOPS)
I went to see Pride and Prejudice and Zombies in the movies this week: It shouldn’t come as a surprise to any of you now, but I LOVE ZOMBIES. I daydream of the impending zombie apocalypse to come, I watch or am attracted to any movie or book that mentions zombies, I even DREAM ABOUT ZOMBIES. That’s right, folks – I’m obsessed. Slightly. THE MOVIE WAS FANTASTIC. Pride and Prejudice is originally a love story, and this movie did an amazing job of translating the original love story in with the gore and awesomeness of zombies! AGH IT WAS GOOD. I RECOMMEND IT.
It was orientation week for my university this week: Orientation week. The time before university begins where you have to opportunity to roam around campus and explore. This week I had a wonderful time exploring the campus. On Tuesday, I got there are 7:45am (why did I get there so early? I don’t know, I’m crazy) and had a small breakfast and a coffee on campus. I happened to stumble across a friend from high school who was also going to my university and we stayed together for the day, enjoying the day and exploring all the bookstores. We came across the most heavenly store in existence: A STATIONERY STORE. My heart melted as I walked in and saw the perfectly colour coded and aligned PENS. AGH. And the notebooks, highlighters, folders – my heart could’ve exploded.

This is one of Hillsong Young & Free’s newest songs, and it’s a great dance track with an upbeat sound and it instantly lifts your spirits when you listen to it.
