Spotlight Saturday #8
GREETINGS MY PRECIOUS BOOKWORMS! First and foremost I would like to apologize for basically going M.I.A. on you all for the past three days! It’s been hectic, and you’ll know why in a minute (this is my little indication to you to keep reading this post… eheheh). Another awesomely fantastic week has flown by, and gosh, it’s time for Spotlight Saturday! Yay!
Spotlight Saturday is a weekly feature, created by Josie at Josie’s Book Corner [aka, moi], dedicated to spotlighting and pinpointing some of the things over the week that have caught my attention more than usual, things I’ve particularly loved, etc.
As always, anyone and everyone is free to do this feature, just remember to link back to any of my Spotlight Saturday posts if you do so!
This week, I’d like to dedicate the spotlighted blogger award (even though it’s not a real award, AWKS), to the one an only Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff! This journalist-to-be is one of the bloggers I constantly see on the blogosphere. I always see her posts, I see her when she likes and comments on my posts, and she is just such a wonderful blogger.
Her posts are creative and fun to read, ALWAYS. So, I suggest that, if you haven’t already… Click on her blog name to check out her blog! IT’S FANTASTIC!
I am happy to spotlight a post from the amazing bloggers at The Social Potato (click here to go to the post I’m rambling about)! I recently read a review of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, posted up on their blog by Aentee, and OF COURSE, it was fabulous! Aentee basically reiterated all of my feelings for this novel and sparked up the love I have for the book. Plus, those graphics were just ON POINT. (But that’s not big news, since Aentee always has fabulous graphics, like, come on).
I was so sure I would be spotlighting a new book this week but, (because I’m such a flipping slow reader gosh DARN IT), I am still reading Clockwork Prince. BUT I HAVE LESS THAT 100 PAGES LEFT TO GO, AND THE FEELS ARE JUST KILLING ME.
Is it so bad for me to say that I want Will, Jem and Tessa to all live happily together? I DON’T WANT TO PICK. PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME PICK A SHIP BECAUSE I CAN’T AND I WONT. NOPE.
Woo! Okay, get ready for a ton of stories because this week was a crazy one and so many amazing moments occurred. (Which is the reason why this blog post is here on Sunday instead of Saturday).
First of all: I GRADUATED ON FRIDAY. Prior to graduation, I was stressed because (if you didn’t know), I am the valedictorian and I was tasked with presenting a speech at my graduation. On Friday we graduated, but it wasn’t the big ceremony – the ceremony is this Wednesday and I’m excited and nervous at the same time! Public speaking makes me shiver with nervousness! But despite this, graduation on Friday was fantastic. We were served breakfast at school, followed by a graduation ceremony where we dress up in funny costumes. OVERALL, IT WAS AWESOME.
And then following that, on Saturday I attended a 25th anniversary party/reaffirmation, which was the reason this post did not go up on the right day. The theme was red and silver and it was honestly the sweetest thing of my entire week. I’ve never been to a wedding (BUT SOON I WILL), and this anniversary was the closest thing to one. It was adorable and my heart was so full of love after it all! And of course I can’t forget to mention all the DELICIOUS Filipino food, aagggghhhhhhhh, SO GOOD.
To be honest, I don’t know why I added this because I suck at discovering new apps. I’m such a creature of habit and since I am so busy right now, I never have time to explore the wonders of new apps! But let’s see… I really adore the Kindle app. Because I tend to forget to bring a book or my Kindle with me when I go out, and having the app is so convenient for when I am alone and bored – I can open my phone app and just start reading away! (Digital convergence for the win?)
I have two songs to share with you today that I have been playing on repeat! When I think about it, these two songs are quite polar opposites in terms of the sound and style of music, but I digress, let’s carry on with discussing the ACTUAL SONGS shall we?
I have been playing Regardless by Jarryd James ft. Julia Stone non-stop. It’s so mellow and groovy and Jarryd and Julia’s voices together in this song make it sound so atmospheric and beautiful. I LOOOOOVE IT.
Now let’s switch to a totally different song: Confident by Demi Lovato. Thank you Jesse for spotlighting this song because now I’m obsessed. Just like Jesse said, this song has such a “I’m in control” vibe and it’s so kick-butt and makes me want to be an independent and strong woman. From the moment it starts playing, you can tell it’s going to be a powerful and dominant song.
This week’s quote comes from the Bible! Woo hoo! I’m a Christian and I love to meditate on the word of God. What was cool about this quote was, that at 12am last night, I was scrolling through Tumblr and this quote appeared, and I saved it immediately. I adore it so much, it’s such a small and simple verse, but it speaks a multitude of words and messages to me.
Aw thank you for spotlighting me! ❤ AND OH MY GOSH CONGRATULATIONS ON GRADUATING!! I hope Wednesday's ceremony was just as fun 😀 If you're starting Clockwork Princess by now: GET THE TISSUES READY AND PREPARE THYSELF. DON'T FORGET TO GET EXTRA HEARTS BECAUSE YOUR HEART WILL BE RIPPED OUT A FEW TIMES IT'S GOING TO BE BRUTAL. But also beautiful and amazing and funny (before you don't want to read it anymore hahaha)

Like a Masters or a PhD? If you did apply to some colleges, I'm sure you'll get admission since you are valedictorian. Your future is promised. Your future is paradise. Wow! You GRADUATED and you’re VALEDICTORIAN! Congratulations! All that while writing your FABULOUS blog and going through an issue that would hold back most people. Amazing!
Now I’m hungry for Filipino food. :-p
About reading speed, I totally emphathize; it’s taking FOREVER to get through Six of Crows–some books read faster than others, I suppose.

EVE, THANK YOU SO MUCH! *hugs*
I know right, I got hungry after writing my post!
Ugh, yes, I hate reading slowly, it brings out the fears within me of not finishing enough books in the span of a month!
Are you enjoying Six of Crows?! That’s on my to-read-ASAP list!

I absolutely understand your feels abot Clickwork Prince. No one wants to choose between Will and Jem (if I really had to I would pick Will but he only wins for a little bit) 😀

Thank you Catia!
I don’t think I ever want to choose! They are both so charming and they’re killing me slowly with their lovableness! I must admit, Will is fine indeed. 😀

I was nervous, and I am nervous for my proper formal speech on Wednesday this week, but I think it was (and will be) good!
Indeed it is!
Yay, thank you! xoxo

I completely understand your Clockwork Prince feels! Why do we even have to choose?! The three of them are so great together!! Having said that I’m a Wessa shipper… But seriously the three of them should just stay together forever and ever.

I KNOW RIGHT?! They all deserve to be one big happy trio. But gosh, I think I equally ship Wessa and Jessa. It’s so hard Jenna, I need guidance!
LikeLiked by 1 person
What I really want is to just ship Will and Jem and all their parabatai goodness. I’m fine without Tessa tbh.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes yes yes. Will and Jem are just adorable together. They compliment each other like two pieces of a puzzle that are meant to connect together! I’d totally ship them without Tessa too. I am sad that in CP, their feelings for Tessa kind of made their relationship fade a little.

Don’t worry, their bond still stays strong. And prepare yourself for CP2!!
