Spotlight Saturday #8
GREETINGS MY PRECIOUS BOOKWORMS! First and foremost I would like to apologize for basically going M.I.A. on you all for the past three days! It’s been hectic, and you’ll know why in a minute (this is my little indication to you to keep reading this post… eheheh). Another awesomely fantastic week has flown by, and gosh, it’s time for Spotlight Saturday! Yay!
Spotlight Saturday is a weekly feature, created by Josie at Josie’s Book Corner [aka, moi], dedicated to spotlighting and pinpointing some of the things over the week that have caught my attention more than usual, things I’ve particularly loved, etc.
As always, anyone and everyone is free to do this feature, just remember to link back to any of my Spotlight Saturday posts if you do so!
This week, I’d like to dedicate the spotlighted blogger award (even though it’s not a real award, AWKS), to the one an only Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff! This journalist-to-be is one of the bloggers I constantly see on the blogosphere. I always see her posts, I see her when she likes and comments on my posts, and she is just such a wonderful blogger.
Her posts are creative and fun to read, ALWAYS. So, I suggest that, if you haven’t already… Click on her blog name to check out her blog! IT’S FANTASTIC!
I am happy to spotlight a post from the amazing bloggers at The Social Potato (click here to go to the post I’m rambling about)! I recently read a review of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, posted up on their blog by Aentee, and OF COURSE, it was fabulous! Aentee basically reiterated all of my feelings for this novel and sparked up the love I have for the book. Plus, those graphics were just ON POINT. (But that’s not big news, since Aentee always has fabulous graphics, like, come on).
I was so sure I would be spotlighting a new book this week but, (because I’m such a flipping slow reader gosh DARN IT), I am still reading Clockwork Prince. BUT I HAVE LESS THAT 100 PAGES LEFT TO GO, AND THE FEELS ARE JUST KILLING ME.
Is it so bad for me to say that I want Will, Jem and Tessa to all live happily together? I DON’T WANT TO PICK. PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME PICK A SHIP BECAUSE I CAN’T AND I WONT. NOPE.
Woo! Okay, get ready for a ton of stories because this week was a crazy one and so many amazing moments occurred. (Which is the reason why this blog post is here on Sunday instead of Saturday).
First of all: I GRADUATED ON FRIDAY. Prior to graduation, I was stressed because (if you didn’t know), I am the valedictorian and I was tasked with presenting a speech at my graduation. On Friday we graduated, but it wasn’t the big ceremony – the ceremony is this Wednesday and I’m excited and nervous at the same time! Public speaking makes me shiver with nervousness! But despite this, graduation on Friday was fantastic. We were served breakfast at school, followed by a graduation ceremony where we dress up in funny costumes. OVERALL, IT WAS AWESOME.
And then following that, on Saturday I attended a 25th anniversary party/reaffirmation, which was the reason this post did not go up on the right day. The theme was red and silver and it was honestly the sweetest thing of my entire week. I’ve never been to a wedding (BUT SOON I WILL), and this anniversary was the closest thing to one. It was adorable and my heart was so full of love after it all! And of course I can’t forget to mention all the DELICIOUS Filipino food, aagggghhhhhhhh, SO GOOD.
To be honest, I don’t know why I added this because I suck at discovering new apps. I’m such a creature of habit and since I am so busy right now, I never have time to explore the wonders of new apps! But let’s see… I really adore the Kindle app. Because I tend to forget to bring a book or my Kindle with me when I go out, and having the app is so convenient for when I am alone and bored – I can open my phone app and just start reading away! (Digital convergence for the win?)
I have two songs to share with you today that I have been playing on repeat! When I think about it, these two songs are quite polar opposites in terms of the sound and style of music, but I digress, let’s carry on with discussing the ACTUAL SONGS shall we?
I have been playing Regardless by Jarryd James ft. Julia Stone non-stop. It’s so mellow and groovy and Jarryd and Julia’s voices together in this song make it sound so atmospheric and beautiful. I LOOOOOVE IT.
Now let’s switch to a totally different song: Confident by Demi Lovato. Thank you Jesse for spotlighting this song because now I’m obsessed. Just like Jesse said, this song has such a “I’m in control” vibe and it’s so kick-butt and makes me want to be an independent and strong woman. From the moment it starts playing, you can tell it’s going to be a powerful and dominant song.
This week’s quote comes from the Bible! Woo hoo! I’m a Christian and I love to meditate on the word of God. What was cool about this quote was, that at 12am last night, I was scrolling through Tumblr and this quote appeared, and I saved it immediately. I adore it so much, it’s such a small and simple verse, but it speaks a multitude of words and messages to me.
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
