Spotlight Saturday #6
Greetings bookworms! I feel like it’s been a month since I last posted, but in reality it’s been two days! This is what happens when you don’t blog for two days – you lose track of time. BUT, I digress. I am here on this mighty fine Saturday to bring you my sixth installment of Spotlight Saturday! YAY!
Spotlight Saturday is a weekly feature, created by Josie at Josie’s Book Corner [aka, moi], dedicated to spotlighting and pinpointing some of the things over the week that have caught my attention more than usual, things I’ve particularly loved, etc.
I finished my last exam for the week, now I have the weekend to (kind of) relax, read and blog before I have to get up and worry and study for my last two exams! Eep! So, I knew I needed to do a post today, because you guys must miss me… OKAY LETS BE SERIOUS, I MISS YOU GUYS.
LISTEN UP, THIS IS SERIOUSLY IMPORTANT, BECAUSE I’M ABOUT TO FANGIRL RIGHT HERE. Honestly, I don’t know why, but it took me so long to discover this amazing lady blogger and I am kicking myself for it. If you haven’t head of her, you MUST follow her. If you don’t…
Well, let’s not talk about that, because you WILL.
This amazing, flipping crazily awesome blogger is… CAIT @ PAPER FURY. *screams like a One Direction fangirl*. This girl has charisma, and a lot of it. After simply reading a couple of her posts, she has shot right up with all of my favourite bloggers. Her blog posts are full of personality, they are ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS, and SHE IS AN AMAZING WRITER, HOLY GOODNESS GRACIOUS.
Her graphics are fabulous, her blog post titles are the BEST, and she is also a genuinely lovely person.
Follow her right now. GO DO IT. Click her name to go to her FABULOUS blog. Not even my words can do her blog justice.
To compensate for the Spotlight Saturdays that I have missed (I think I’ve missed one or two), I have two spotlighted posts that just blew me away this week. AAAAAAND they come from two of my most beloved bloggers: Aentee @ Read At Midnight & Cait @ Paper Fury!
Aentee posted a lovely post about Common Blogger Insecurities and let me tell you, everything about that post was, and still is, flipping wonderful. The graphics, as always with this lady, were gorgeous, and the insecurities that she mentioned? Soooooooo correct. You’ll be able to relate, I’m sure. So go check it out, RIGHT NOW!
Cait posted the most phenomenal post about her Writing Snippets in which she gave us a series of small snippets and sneak peeks into her current WIP. And let me tell you…This post I read this morning and it’s what brought me to the decision that I needed to spotlight her. I flipping love her and you need to check out her blog RIGHT NOW. If you haven’t done so by now then… What are you doing with your life?
I don’t have a spotlighted book this week! Currently I’ve been reading Shattered Blue, however, I don’t feel like it’s worthy of being spotlighted! It’s nothing phenomenal and I struggled with the first 30 per cent. But, now that I’m halfway, it’s really picking up the pace.
Exams? Hell, that’s what my week has been made up of! But I suppose a wonderful moment was yesterday when I finished my history exam and I realized I have the whole weekend to relax! Honestly, I almost cried. Of course, I still have two more to do, but English is a piece of cake and Integrated Science? Well, I’m pretty sure I’ll have to study hard for that one this weekend.
The Holy Bible App! I’m a Christian, if you didn’t know already, and I love to read the Bible. What I love about this app, is that it makes it so easy to go to verses in the Bible and to SAVE them for quick access whenever I need a little bit of God’s presence in my day.
Another great thing about this app, is that they present you with the option to participate in plans – these can range from three days to weeks – and they have a range of topics to choose from! They are basically like daily devotions and they are great!
This one is so easy! Place of Freedom by Highlands Worship! This song is absolutely beautiful. The piano at the beginning is simply piano playing goals for me. The lyrics are perfection and this song has been carrying me throughout the entire week. This song is recorded live, but still sounds flawless and like a studio version, with the added bonus of an intense atmosphere that makes the build ups so powerful.
Don’t chase people.
Be an example.
Attract them.
Word hard and be yourself.
The people who belong in your life will come find you and stay.
Just do your thing.
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
