The Liebster Award

The Liebster Award!

Hello bookworms and welcome back my beloved friends, to my blog! Today I have a long overdue award nomination that I was nominated for by the lovely Alice @ Raptureinbooks! I suggest giving her lovely blog a click and possibly a follow because she is quite lovely!
Now, on with the award. This award requires me to answer eleven questions given to me by my lovely nominator, so let’s do this shall we?

If you had just £15 to buy one book for a whole year – paperback or hardback (we all know ebooks are cheaper no cheating now!) what would you buy and why?

Woah girl, how could you ask such a question?! This decision will break my heart! I suppose I would buy a paperback version of The Rest Of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness, because I would savor that bad boy like no other! Now as my heart breaks for having to make a single choice, I move on to the next question!

Pick one character from your favourite book and describe them in five words or less.

So obviously through my fangirling, you must know by now that the Throne of Glass series is my favourite series of all flipping time. AND I FINISHED QUEEN OF SHADOWS TODAY. I am a pile of melted feels. Honestly. How will I ever write a review of that beautiful book?

I digress. In honor of my spontaneous meltdown of fangirling and feels, I pick Rowan: warrior, prince, has my heart. That was five words right? I think so. I LOVE ROWAN, AND YOU ALL MUST KNOW. Now, I cannot handle another moment thinking about that fabulous, attractive, deadly Fae warrior a second longer! *swoons*

PLEASE TAKE ME ROWAN

What are the reasons you abandon books you’re reading? If you don’t abandon, how do you stick to your guns and finish them even though you want to quit so bad?

If I abandon a book, it’s either because it freaks the hell out of me (The Accident Season), it bores me so much it makes me want to rip my heart out and throw the book into a lake (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), or because I just can’t understand what is going on or I can’t click with it by at least 40% the way through.

Yes, I’m not a total angel, I know. We all have our dark sides!

What is your perfect environment to read in? Is it quiet, music on in the background, is there TV or are you alone?

Absolutely dead quiet! I need to immerse myself in the moment, to get the full cinematic experience of the story in my head! If you interrupt me then beware, I bite.

If you had to be an animal from a book (whether it be natural or preternatural) what would you be and why?

Can I please be a ghost leopard? Pretty please? I’d be any type of animal associated with cats. Anyone who has read Queen of Shadows, you know what I’m talking about. *wink*

If the world ended and we all lived in a post-apocalyptic world, which post-apocalyptic world would you prefer to live in?

Holy moly. Okay, as much as I fantasize about our world ending and all of us ending up living in a post-apocalyptic world, the only one I have read about is the apocalyptic world of Angelfall by Susan Ee and goodness gracious, that would be slightly terrifying. But I suppose… If you send Raffe my way, I wouldn’t mind one bit.

Which Hogwarts house would you rather be sorted into and why? (According to the HP website many a year ago I’d be a Hufflepuff, god only knows why)

I feel inadequate to answer this question as I still haven’t read the series! Feel free to throw rotten food at me, I know, it’s absolutely shameful!

Post one book cover that you think describes you best.

Eep! I have no idea! Tell me bookworms, what book cover describes me best? 😉

Now I haven’t read The Selection yet, but could you do it? Join a reality show for the sake of the amusement of others even if it means you become a prince or princess?

As fun as it sounds, no thank you! I’m much content to be me. I have enough trouble putting on a face in my life without having to face the troubles of putting on an entire mask to the world who is watching your every move, listening to your every word! I’ll leave that to America and her stubborn, crazy self!

Describe your favourite book series in one word.

EVERYTHING.

Finally: If you were a talking turtle what would be your first words?

“OH SHIZZLE, I’M A TALKING TURLTLE.” (so lame, I hate these type of questions, someone slap me)

I hope you all had a wonderful time reading my answers! I had so much fun writing this post!
I feel like I’ve been missing or a little bit inactive lately, but I’m going through a dark time right now! It took a lot to pull myself out of that dark place to make this post, but hopefully I will see you all tomorrow with a Discussion Thursday post!

  3. Aww I hope you feel better soon, take the time you need!
Well, to say the least you have me very excited for the rest of the Throne of Glass series and some sexy male characters haha! I’ll have to see what this Rowan buzz is, is he ANOTHER love interest for Celaena?
*prepares arm with rotten tomatoes* No Harry Potter? 😱 Get on that! (Jk no pressure)
HAHAHA that’s what I would be saying if I was a talking turtle tbh!
    Loved this!

Eep! I’m excited for you too! And YOU HAVEN’T MET ROWAN YET?! Rowan appears in Heir of Fire, and well not a love interest at first, but it’s a very slow burn romance I would say. You’ll see 😉
*squeaks and runs out to the bookstore to buy the HP series* 😂
Hehe, I’m glad I am not the only one!!!
Thank you for the lovely comment Liam ❤

  5. As usual, these are all great answers. You did a particularly fine job of summing up all the reasons for abandoning a book.

Yes unfortunately after page 10, there was such a lack of action that I couldn’t stand it! It wasn’t even that, the writing style just was not my thing at all.
You must read the Throne of Glass series. Check out my reviews, maybe they will convince you 😉
*gracefully accepts rotten tomatoes being thrown at me* I know I am a horrible person! 😂 hehe

I’m trying! This week is proving to be very challenging. I’m so glad you like my blog and don’t worry! I’ll be posting as frequently as possible! 😄

  7. It’s okay, we’re in the same boat. I am just starting the HP series now. I’ve been avoiding it but I’m not disappointed yet. It’s only 7-8 pages in though XD

      1. Yay! When is the Christmas holiday for you? I’ll probably do a review on the first book once I’m done even though pretty much everyone has read it already.

  8. oh ROWAN ❤ how can one not think about that perfect male Fae specimen? With is golden skin? pine-green eyes and silver hair? not to mention the broad shoulders and abs? and those things he says… wow, I think I need to get up a douse a pitcher of water in my head… damn it, not I'm thinking about him again 😛

Ghost Leopard? is it so you can scare the hell out of Aedion? 😛

    1. Cristina! Don’t make me swoon and melt all over again 😍 Oh the scene when Rowan threw that pitcher of water over him! I squealed in delight.

Well, I’d prefer the term “playfully tease him until he falls in love with me”😉

  10. I’m sorry to hear you’re not doing so good right now. Take all the time you need. Sometimes having a bit of break from the internet can be the best thing you can do for your mental health. We’ll be here when you get back 🙂

I just moved back home after university, and one of the adjustments I am finding more difficult is dealing with my family members barging into my room to talk to me. It takes a lot of self control to smile rather than snarl with rage!

    Take care of yourself! xxx

    1. Thank you sweetheart 💞 It’s hard because I thought I bounced back! Of course it’s a lot harder and more complex than I thought! And with exams coming up in less than a week (which I am in too bad a state to concentrate enough to study for) the feeling only gets worse!
I’ll definitely not hesitate to step back of I need to. Thank you ❤❤❤
