Hello bookworms and welcome back to Josie’s Book Corner! Today is Tuesday, and I know it may seem a little strange that this is not a Top Ten Tuesday post. But today is a Tuesday that holds a much greater importance… It’s September the 1st… which means QUEEN OF SHADOWS IS HERE. 

Bookworms, you have NO idea how excited I am for this book. I have been waiting for it for too long. So in honour of this series and the release of Queen of Shadows, I am doing a TAG! Let’s get started…

Favorite Book by Sarah J. Maas and Why?

My favourite book written by Sarah J Maas… Oh gosh that’s a hard one! I’d have to go with Crown of Midnight or Heir of Fire. Those two books were simply amazing, I cannot contain the feels I have for those two books – in fact, for the ENTIRE series. 

Favorite Character in the Throne of Glass series and Why?’

I LOVE ALL OF THEM. But if I honestly had to pick one, I have to pick Celaena. She’s kick ass and amazing and goes through so much development over the course of the first three books and the novella. She’s a female assassin and one of the best, she’s independent, sassy and deadly, but feminine and has a heart of gold, masked by a mountain of pain and fear. I admire her. 

Which Team are You On? (Dorian, Chaol, or Rowan)

Honestly? I’m torn. I cannot decide. I love Dorian, Chaol, Rowan and Aedion almost equally at this point in the series. These boys are honestly swoon-worthy all the way and I can truly see each and every one of them ending up with our main character. So as of now, I am not on any team… I’m on ALL OF THE TEAMS.

How Long Have You Had to Wait Between Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows?

I pre-ordered Queen of Shadows back in May, so I’ve had to wait approximately four months! It’s been excruciating, but I know many who have suffered waiting an entire YEAR for this book to be released. My heart goes out to you all!

What are your favorites out of the books that have helped you pass the time waiting for the next Sarah J. Maas release?

It’s been tough waiting for Queen of Shadows, but throughout the wait, I’ve encountered many amazing books that relieved the pain of waiting, including: the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy, The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Wrath and the Dawn, and many more that I cannot think of from the top of my head (plus the fact that I am half alseep while writing this… I’m so tired!)

When do You Think You’ll get a Chance to Read Queen of Shadows?

It breaks my heart to say I will not be reading this book immediately. I will hopefully get to it by the middle of September, however with exams coming up in a month, I am very very scared that my reading schedule will fall apart this month! And I don’t want the stress of school to get in the way of my love for this book. But we shall see. 

What would you say to recommend Sarah J. Maas books to someone who has never read them?

READ THEM NOW. Sarah J Maas is the queen. There are swoon-worthy males that you will NOT be able to resist in all the books she has written. Kick-ass female characters guaranteed. Amazing writing and great world building, check. READ THEM NOW, YOU ARE MISSING OUT.
