The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Hello bookworms and welcome back to Josie’s Book Corner! On this fine Friday afternoon, I am presenting to you a tag which I was kindly nominated for by the following amazing bloggers who I UGRE you to check out! Here are the following bloggers who nominated me:

Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts
Analee @ Book Snacks
Ana @ Ana’s Lair
Raven @ Dreamy Addictions

Don’t forget to click their blog names to go to their amazing blogs. These bloggers are some of my favourite bloggers on this blogosphere. They are so friendly, they are so communicative and supportive, so don’t miss out on meeting them! So without further delays and ramblings, let’s get onto the questions and answers for the tag. . .

How long have you been a blogger?

I have been a blogger since the beginning of January, this year. I’m fresh to the blogging community, but I love it so much and so far I have been getting so much support for it. In fact, I realised that I have already reached over 300 followers on my blog! Which is absolutely INCREDIBLE, so THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU BOOKWORMS, I LOVE YOU! ❤

But back to the question. I’ve only been blogging for 8 months now, rambling and raving about books I’ve read, doing the countless tags – such as this one – that I have been tagged in by you bookworms, ranting about things that I wouldn’t usually be able to in real life, etc.

At what point do you think you will stop blogging?

As of right now, I will not be stopping any time soon. As of now, I see myself doing this for years and years and years. All the way through university and even after university. It may change and develop along the way, but I will hopefully still be essentially talking about books and my love for them!

What’s the best thing about blogging?

Oh gosh, there are too many things to mention! The blogging community is abundant in ‘best things’ so I will give you a list:

  • The immense friendliness bloggers have towards other bloggers (old and new)
  • The support bloggers have for each other and their willingness to promote other blogs
  • The readiness for discussion and communication bloggers have to offer on posts
  • The acceptance
  • The culture is honestly amazing
  • The fact that there are so many book bloggers on the blogosphere
  • And so, so so much more. . .

What’s the worst thing about blogging?

There really is no bad thing about blogging. Well, I suppose the only thing is the pressure that comes with demand for posting blog posts and such. But it’s not the worst thing, it’s simply one of the more negative things that can come along with blogging.

How long does it take to find/create pictures for your post?

This depends on the type of post I am writing.

If I am writing reviews, I need to create the image showing my star ratings for each element of the story. This can take between 5 – 15 minutes, but since I’ve done it many times before, I usually complete it quite quickly. If I am doing tag posts or awards, sometimes I simply get pictures from Google and GIFS or if I am feeling creative I will take a bit more time to create my own custom images for it.

Who is your book crush?

This is the worst question because I have so many crushes of fictional crushes it’s not even funny. I could list so many, but I will answer this question with my most current fictional crush/es. I have two recent fictional crushes at the moment and the first is Warner from Shatter Me. I know I did say that he came off as a total psycopathic obsessive man, but after reading Destroy Me the fictional crush was developed. And there is no going back now.

The second crush is Jem from The Infernal Devices. He is so kind and humble and like a total prince. I can’t help but crush on him.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

There are so many. If J.R.R Tolkien was alive and kicking, he’d be my choice over all the authors. I would love to have the amazing Patrick Ness on my blog, as well as Sarah J Maas – my two most recent favourite authors. To have Cassandra Clare or Christopher Paolini on my blog would be so amazing.

What do you wear when you write blog posts?

I put on my specially designed blogging outfit and my thinking hat which has a lovely pom-pom on the top and I’m ready to get to work. Just kidding. Gosh, I wear clothes, obviously! But if we are being a little more specific, usually I blog at night or early in the morning, so I’m coincidentally always blogging in lazy clothes/my pyjamas.

How long does it take you to prepare?

Hardly any time at all. I jump on my computer and I start writing. When writing reviews, I like to begin immediately while the book is fresh in my mind.

How do you feel about the book blogger community?

I believe that I have already answered this question. The community is so incredibly accepting and welcoming to new bloggers and regular bloggers alike. I remember when I first started blogging and I was not prepared to actually have a group of bloggers not only reply to my comments on their posts, but also follow my blog and comment on my posts! They are also so friendly and ready to generate discussions when the occasion demands it.

What should be done to achieve a successful blog?

The advice here is to always blog for yourself because blogging is such a personal thing. I also cannot stress enough how important commmunication is. So comment, like, follow and interact with other bloggers, because it’s all about connections and creating new friends within the blogosphere. Not only will this give your blog more attention, people will see that you are friendly and willing to support them and in turn, they will support you! Do what makes you happy: so blog whatever you want to blog. Not for the purposes of others. For yourself. Unless of course, your blog is dedicated to catering to others. If so, go right ahead and blog for others!

Who to tag next?

I will not be tagging any bloggers because I am currently under some deep stress at the moment! But I tag all you to do this if you haven’t done it yet!
