Month In Review | July
Month In Review is a monthly feature here at Josie’s Book Corner where I give you a little rewind of all the happenings of the month and the things I’ve loved.
Hello bookworms and welcome back to Josie’s Book Corner! It is the beginning of a new month, which means a month in review post is well over due! July was a decent month, it was an extremely fast-paced, mentally challenging month for me, but reading and blogging was great this month. Let’s get into it . . .
Life
Life during the month of July was a roller-coaster, in terms of my personal life and my mental health. For most of July I struggled with actually feeling motivated enough to be excited to wake up and go about my normal, usual days. I was usually worrying about something or putting myself down. BUT blogging always helped me out of that, even if only for a little while. Thank goodness for all you bookworms.
School:
School started back up again this month – ugh – BUT on a lighter note, it’s my last term of school! So in about 3 months I will be graduating! It’s so crazy and I am over-the-moon happy about it. I am more than ready to get my last 10 exams over and done with so I can never come back to school again – well, until university but university is so different from high school.
School Ball Happened:
I had my Year 12 Ball on the 25th of this month, and oh my gosh, it was AMAZING. I had my friends come over my house at 1pm to start getting ready and I did their make-up and we all did each other’s hair. And despite the ball starting at 7, we ended up rushing to get ready by 5:30, which was the funniest experience ever!
When we got there, everyone look so good and everyone was happy and friendly to each other. The FOOD WAS AMAZING. To be honest, I only go to big events like this if good food is involved. What was surprising, was that I actually had so much fun on the dance floor. And let me tell you right now that I suck at dancing. Extremely. Bookworms don’t dance – well, this one doesn’t. And here’s a secret – I actually wore sweat pants and socks under my ball dress! 😀
The only sad thing was that my date could not make it that night. But I still had fun! Anyway, here are some lovely pictures for you all!
Blog
Blogging this month was great! I managed to post almost every day of the month, and only missed 5 days of blogging. Out of all the months of blogging since I started (In January), July as the highest stats of all! Looking at it right now, I’m blown away!

My favourite post this month:
DEFINITELY the Rip It Or Ship It Tag. That was the most fun I’d ever had on my blog, picking out different names and debating whether the characters made a good match for each other. An equally favourite post would have to be the Travelling Notebook Announcement. I am so excited and happy about the event that has officially started. It’s the biggest event that I’ve every co-hosted, and it’s INTERNATIONAL.
Reading
I had a great reading month! I managed to read 6 great books that also varied in genre and in rating! There were some incredible books, and there were some average and slightly disappointing ones too. But I was glad that I read them all!
Favourite book of the month:
This is a hard choice, and I’m torn between two different books. But since one is a contemporary and the other is a paranormal/urban fantasy, it’s okay for me to mention both in this post!
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Music of the Month
I have quite a few favourite songs this month. Even though I haven’t listened to as much music as I used to, I find myself picking these songs as soon as I start listening to music, and I play them on repeat.
Touch by Troye Sivan
I love Troye! And this song – Touch – is so mesmerising. Troye’s voice is just a dream to listen to, and the rhythm, the different sounds in this song, make me want to listen to this song all day, every day. It’s hypnotising. I suggest you all to listen to it!
Kiss Me Quick by Nathan Sykes
This song is lovelyyyyyyyyy. Nathan’s voice just gets me every time, (and he’s quite cute). This song attracts the jazz-loving side of me, it’s got a jazz type of vibe mixed with the pop genre.
Show of the Month
Nothing much has changed here. I’m still obsessively watching Gossip Girl. I can’t help it! It’s addicting, I can’t get enough of the drama, and as of right now I have a new ship that I will ship forever and ever – CHUCK AND BLAIR. BLAIR AND CHUCK. Oh my goodness, you guys have no idea how much I ship them!
And that is all for my month in review! I hope you enjoyed this one. I’m sorry for bombarding you with pictures this month!
What were the highlights of YOUR month?!
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
