Teaser Tuesday | Shatter Me

Teaser Tuesday

Hello bookworms and welcome back! Today is Tuesday, and instead of a Top Ten Tuesday post, I thought I’d share with you a Teaser Tuesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely blog Should Be Reading. Here are the rules:

1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page
4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SHARE ANY SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK.
5. Share the author and the title so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists!

My Teaser: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)
Click the image to go to the Goodreads page!

I duck my head and trip away from the mirror only to have him catch me in his arms. “I’d forgotten my own face,” I whisper.

“Just don’t forget who you are,” he says.

I try to understand the confidence he has in who he thinks I am and realize his reassurance is the only thing stopping me from diving into a pool of my own insanity.

Aaaand, there we have it for my teasers! I hope you all enjoyed these little sneak peaks into Shatter Me! I’m almost done with it and I only started reading it today!

Have you read this book? Tell me in the comments!

If you haven’t read this book, tell me… What did you think about these teasers? Do they spark your interest?

  1. I like the idea of these Teaser Tuesdays, is it a weekly thing (I’d assume so but just making sure lol). I’ve followed, this looks like a very interesting blog. I’m a writer myself, and I’d love it if you took the time to check out my small blog. Atm its mainly short stories and a bit of poetry, but I’m working on a novel (Prologue is on my blog). Feel free to check it out, keep blogging and have a good day 🙂

    1. Yep! Its a weekly meme indeed! I really enjoy it too, many of the blogs I follow do this as well.
I would LOVE to check out your blog. In fact in fact I will do so now.
You’re working on a novel? That’s exciting! So am I in fact, as I am also an aspiring writer. I am planning on putting up the first chapter to my blog maybe this week.
Thank you for stopping by! 😊

      2. Its a fantasy novel about a girl who is chosen and gifted by the God of Spirit with extremely powerful abilities and finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient prophecy coming to life.
Thank you! I’ll look forward to your feedback.

      3. Got to love a good ancient prophecy. If you’re having any trouble writing the actual prophecy itself I’d love to help! I genuinely enjoyed writing the prophecy for my novel.

      5. Sure thing, just send me an email with the sort of prophecy you’re thinking of (or your attempts) and I’ll be sure to give it a go 🙂

  7. Never heard of this meme until now but it looks fun! Tahereh Mafi’s writing is so beautifully worded and what are your thoughts on the awesome Kenji? 😀 He’s my favorite character in this whole series! The other characters changed too much, too fast and not exactly for the best :/

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Well, there’s a first time for everything! 😀
I think Kenji is so funny! I only just read the part where he is introduced but I love him already.
Oh really? Well, I will keep that in mind as I read. xoxo

  8. I’m guessing that this book is coming of age, just from those few lines?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Its actually a dystopian novel about a girl who has the power to kill with her touch! But coming of age could be a theme in it. xoxo

  15. I was conflicted about this one. While I flew through it, the writing style started bothering me around the 60% mark. Hope you like it more than I did. 🙂

    1. The writing style I think is definitely a hit or miss thing for readers. I personally love the writing style and I’m astonished at how quickly I’m flying through the book! Its insane!
At this point, I don’t see why people love Warner so much, he’s very possessive and slightly creepy and quite frankly, a little insane.
We’ll see how I feel when I finish it! I have a feeling I will finish it in the next couple of hours.
      xoxo

      1. Haha! I felt the same way about Warner, but I think a lot of people start loving him after the first novella. I just couldn’t look past his sociopathic aura. :3
