The Rules:
- Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
- Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
- Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
- Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
- Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!
Blogging has changed our world. Like the Internet as a whole, it’s changed the way we communicate, exchange information, and simply how we spend our time. People of all kinds, from nearly any country, of nearly any social or political status, can create a blog and work their way into having a dedicated readership, or just experiment with the freedom it gives. Celebrities, world leaders, your next-door neighbors, ordinary citizens—every single one of us has the chance to be heard. To be part of a global community. This is the blogosphere, the blogging world, and each individual blogger helps to make it what it is.
So, why not celebrate this wonderful thing? No, I’m not talking about a special day, month, or year dedicated to blogging. I’m not even talking about celebrating blogging. I am talking about celebrating the bloggers themselves. Because, without them, such a diverse, free and fun thing wouldn’t exist.

My Story
So I started by blog in January this year, but I’d been having thoughts of starting a blog a long time before I actually started it. Two years prior to starting this blog, I had thoughts of starting a blog. I’ve always felt the need to share my thoughts on things and get them out into the world and I knew that blogging was a great way to do it.
At first, I struggled with figuring out what kind of blog to start. A beauty blog? Didn’t work out. A life blog? Too personal. A writing blog? That’s a lot of work. So for two years, I just sat around thinking about it and reading posts of how to start a blog and keep up with a blog.
Finally, in 2015, the last year of high-school and the gateway to adulthood, I started a blog. And it was the best decision of my life. From the very first post, it felt right. I didn’t even care that I got no views or likes on my first couple posts because it felt so right that I didn’t want to stop. And now, I just keep on improving and doing my best to bring out the best content and make it look as appealing and fun to the eye as possible.
My Advice To You!
For all of you reading this who are thinking of starting a blog. Do it. Just give it a go! Not only is the process of constructing your blog to suit your tastes extremely fun, but writing posts is fun too! And you never know if it’s right for you if you never try. It’s all about baby steps. Don’t be discouraged if you got zero views or likes or comments on the first couple of posts. It’s how it is for everyone.
The best thing you can do is follow blogs that have the same content as you or those that you are interested in. Follow those that have many followers, but also follow and find blogs that have fewer followers! Take the journey together as you build your personal blogosphere!
The most amazing and important thing with blogging – in my opinion – is to communicate! This means commenting and liking other’s blog posts! Start up a conversation! Be engaging! You’ll feel so much more connected to the blogosphere and you’ll find some awesome friends along the way.
I know many bloggers who may be struggling with keeping up their blog or might be thinking of shutting down their blog because things are too hectic. My advice, if you’re finding it hard to keep up, maybe there’s so much going on in your life or you just can’t think of anything to post, here’s some tips.
Give yourself an entire day dedicated to writing blog posts. Write a ton of blog posts that you can upload ever day of the week. Not only does this save you time throughout the week, but it’s a great feeling of accomplishment knowing that all your blog posts for the week are written and ready to be uploaded on the specific day.
If you’re unsure of what to post about, then I suggest exploring all the blogs you follow. Maybe consider following more blogs! There’s so much you can get from reading other people’s blog posts, so many ideas.
