Stacking The Shelves #6
Hello bookworms! Happy Saturday to you all. Now, you may know that I had my birthday on the 25th of June – yay me, I turned 17 – and what I did to celebrate was go out and spend over a hundred dollars on books. A birthday present from me, to me! That’s just how I roll.
So I bought 6 books. And I’m so happy I bought them. There is one book that was an accident – a very funny accident – which you will read about in a minute. So without further delay, I present to you… my birthday book haul!
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley
I’m sure you all already have heard of this book on my blog through my July TBR post. I strolled into the book store, saw this book, picked it up, stroked the cover and thought: You are officially mine.
And here it is today! Behold, Magonia!
Alienated by Melissa Landers
I’ve been absolutely dying to get my hands on this book! When I saw it in the book store, I snatched it. Literally.
This book feels so good. That may sound weird, but seriously, it feels good. It’s heavier than the other books in this haul, despite being the same size. I love it! It may not be good for travelling purposes, but to hold, it just feels so real.
I can’t wait to read this book.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I’m sure you all know that I have already read this book. (Click here to see my review). However, I did not own my own copy, as I borrowed a copy from my local library. I went out to the bookstore to buy books with this book in mind.
I love this edition. But I am also planning to get the collector’s edition hardback because… why the heck not?! It’s one of my favourite books of this year, for sure.
The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutoski
Okay, here’s the accident. I got home to discover I bought the second book in the series. Damn it. This is what happens when you make the book’s titles so similar!
I literally slapped myself in the face for picking the wrong book. BUT, I’m glad I have one of the books in the series, which will compell me to buy the first book and begin reading it.
This series is apparently AMAZING, so I really want to read it soon!
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Another book you would have already heard from my July TBR post!
Isn’t this cover the most gorgeous cover you’ve ever seen?! If the premise wasn’t so intriguing, I would have bought it solely for the cover. It’s irresistible.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
This was also mentioned in my July TBR post. Look at this edition! Isn’t it simply stunning?! I saw it in my city’s bookstore and immediately fell in love with it.
For almost two years now I’ve wanted to read and own a copy of this highly acclaimed book, and now, my wish has come true. Thankyou me, for giving me this as a birthday present! (giggle)
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
