Top 5 Characters I Want to Drown

Hello bookworms and welcome back! It’s Wednesday so that means it’s time for another installment of Top Five Wednesday! Today, we are doing a topic that I am incredibly excited about – which is strange, because this is sadly, quite a dreary topic – but since I don’t tend to express many negative things in my blog, this topic is good for me. So, without any further delay, let us jump into the top five characters that I have the urge to drown…

1. President Snow from The Hunger Games

It’s well known that he is an ass. I would gladly drown him for the things he did in Katniss’s world. I mean, who would create such a horrific game such as the Hunger Games? It’s insane! He’s insane!

2. The King of Adarlan from the Throne of Glass series

I despise him. Not only is he a terrible ruler for secretly (well, now not so secretly) dealing with dark magic and controlling everyone, he’s a terrible father! Whenever I think about him, I get this angry feeling boiling in the pit of my stomach.

3. Aspen from The Selection series

Now, fair to say I’ve only read the first book in The Selection series, but I already hate Aspen. I don’t know what it is about him. I think it’s the fact of how he made America act when he suddenly came back into her life. It was ridiculous and I was screaming at the book, telling him to get out and go home.

4. Eureka from the Teardrop duology

So I enjoyed this series, but I just really started to dislike Eureka in the second book, Waterfall. Some of the things she did frustrated me, especially her last choice. I was literally frowning at the last page of the book because I was confused, unhappy and unsatisfied.

5. Saruman from The Lord of the Rings

Both in the books and the movies, I hate Saruman. He’s deceitful and evil and that’s simply all I can say. Siding with the Dark Lord just for your own personal gain? Ugh. I’ll drown him for sure.

And that is all for this weeks Top Five Wednesday! Feel free to tell me in the comments down below your top five characters you wish you could drown! I would love to know! This was a hard topic for me because when it comes to characters, I’m an optimist. But I would LOVE to know all of your picks. ALSO feel free to comment the links to your posts if you did one.

  1. Great choices haha. I haven’t read Teardrop so I can’t say anything about that. I agree about the others. You haven’t read the rest of The Selection series, but other than Aspen, I’d also drown the king lol. I’d drown the king before Aspen. I hate Aspen, too and I hate him more in The Elite. I really can’t stand the king of Adarlan, especially after Heir of Fire — what a despicable father! YES to Saruman! I’d also put Queen Levana from the Lunar Chronicles.

    1. Teardrop is an okay book, but I feel like I wouldn’t recommend it.
Glad you agree with my choices! I need to read The Lunar Chronicles!

  3. Great list! And i read the spoiler for ACOTAR when ‘tamlin ripped her throat out.’
See spoliers yearn and what for you around corners…they jump out at you at any time…..if that Tamlin ripping up her throat is even a spolier?

    1. Thank you! Oh no, spoilers! I don’t know if it’s a spoiler because you can tell that it’s bound to happen… But ah I’m sorry! I need to be a little more discreet, I just got so excited. 😁

  4. This post is perfect and your choices are great!
For the Selection series…I really wanted to drown America though, to be honest.
I did not like her at all.

    1. Aw, thank you! 😄
Yeah, America wasn’t all that great either, but for some reason, I don’t seem to hate her as much as everyone else seems to! Maybe I will after reading the rest of the series? xoxo

      1. She started to get so much worse for me in the second book. That’s when I really started to not like her. I was able to tolerate her in the first book, but the second book I just couldn’t stand her.

      2. Ah, now I’m nervous! I really hope she doesn’t spoil the book for me!

  5. I also completely hate president snow and the King. I completely forgot about them whole making my list!! I didn’t really like Aspen that much but I didn’t exactly hate him either… I think he got better throughout the series, or at least toward the end.

    1. I’ll have to read the rest of the series to see what I think of Aspen! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

  6. Thank you! Oh my gosh, how could I forget?! I think she’s gonna be my honorable mention! I despised her also and was so happy when her Tamlin ripped her throat to pieces. 👌

  7. Cool list! I definitely agree on the first two, and kind of third one too. I think I would add Amarantha (at least, I believe that’s her name!) from A Court of Thorns and Roses as well. She simply made my blood boil, I hated her so much!!
