Top Ten Characters I Would Name My Kids After

Hello bookworms! It’s Tuesday, so once again, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! This week I decided to pick a different topic from the original topic for this week which is Top Ten Books I’d Like To See As Movies/TV Shows because I’m pretty sure I already did a post about that. PLUS, this topic sounded so good. So without further delay, let’s get into my top ten characters I would name my kids after!

1. Penryn from Angelfall by Susan Ee

I don’t know about you, but Penryn is such a unique name and I love it. I have a thing for unique names and since Penryn is such an amazing, independent and kick-ass character in Angelfall, I would totally name my child after her.

2. Celaena from Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Like, come on of course I would pick this name. From the moment I read the blurb for Throne of Glass and saw this name, I was so intrigued. Once again, such a unique name and this name sounds so beautiful, despite being the name of a kick-ass assassin (which is of course not a bad thing).

3. Fletcher from The Novice by Taran Matharu

Yes, I know, I’m a sucker for unique names. I would totally name my son Fletcher! It just sounds so damn cool.

4. Jace from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

So I loved Jace in the Mortal Instruments series and I would never pass up the opportunity to name my son Jace. He is such a smart, strong and totally witty guy that I fell in love with in the book and to have my son named after such a character, would be quite fantastic – I’d never get sick of saying his name either.

5. Saphira from Eragon by Chirstopher Paolini

Granted, this is the name of the lovely female dragon in Eragon, but I would love to name my daughter Saphira! It’s just beautiful.

6. Nico from The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

I really loved Nico’s character in the series and I loved his name. He’s such a wonderful character that I would gladly name my son after.

7. Leo from The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

You guys might know that Leo is one of my favourite characters in this entire series. I absolutely fell in complete love with him. And although it might sound weird that I would name my child after a character I fell so deeply in love with and same one of my book boyfriends but basically I would name him after Leo because I LOVED his personality!

8. Hazel from The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I really like the name Hazel – its such a pretty name and Hazel in the book (if I remember correctly) was quite a strong female as I would like my daughter to grow up to be.

9. Frodo from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien

You guys know that I’m a LOTR fanatic. I FREAKING LOVE this series. So I would totally name my son after Frodo – such an awesome little hobbit! … Okay well, maybe I wouldn’t call my son Frodo… Okay no actually, I totally would. And that’s the end of that.

10. Draco from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I haven’t read the books (don’t kill me yet, I will read them soon!) but I have watched some on the movies and I loved the name Draco – yes, he is a rude and quite mean character, but I just really love the name guys.

So that is all for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed this little switch-me-up! Tell me in the comments if you would name your kids after any of the ones I’ve mentioned or tell me your other choices! I’d love to know.

  1. Ha ha these are awesome names!! I love the names Jace, Celaena, Saphira, Penryn, Nico & Hazel as well!! They’re all amazing names, and I totally would name my child(s) after one of these names. There’s just a certain poetic feel to them, you know? So beautiful and fun to say, haha. Great topic! ❤

  2. I’ve always wanted to name my kid Draco too. xD Not sure others would be on board with that though, hahaha! 🙂 Great picks! (Psst, Leo Valdez is my favorite too!)

  3. Great list! I love the name Penryn and Celaena, too. I even love Aelin! I did not like Draco haha but he has an interesting name. I like the name Jace but by the end of the series, I didn’t love him as much as I originally did – I’m more of a Will fan. If I were to name my child from LOTR or The Hobbit, I’d name him Kili or Aragorn. They were my favorite! A lot of great choices here!!

  4. YESS! Hazel Grace Lancaster! Seriously, I wouldn’t give my daughter my last name. I’d just name her that. It’s already perfect. I’d also include Katniss. Cause she’s Katniss and there’s nothing more to say. But since I refuse to ever have kids, this is all hypothetical. 😂

  5. This topic plays in my mind as weird, like literally you’d need 10 kids to name them all your preferences or at least 5 if you try out smart and then name your kids twice each.
    Just kidding!
And I really love the sound of the name of Draco and if you’d notice carefully Draco is the first word in the emblem of Hogwarts!
    So Yeah! 🙂

    • Yes, I doubt I would have 10 kids! I could always give my kids 3 names… 😉
Draco is definitely great name. Seems like many of us like the name!
      Oh wow, that’s cool! xoxo

  6. Saphira is truly one of the most beautiful names I’ve come across. Draco is more than just a rude and mean character, and you definitely should check it out ASAP.
