Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
Valentine's Day. A day of love, and chocolates and kisses. And MY FAVOURITE BOOK COUPLES!
So it’s Valentine’s Day today, so I’ve decided to celebrate all my favourite and best couples in books! Seriously, there have been quite a few books I’ve read over the years in which the romantic relationship between two characters made me fall in love with them so hard that I wouldn’t mind third wheeling with them for the rest of my life! (Does that sound creepy?)
So without further delay, here are my most favourite book couples! (In no particular order)
Eragon and Arya from the Inhertiance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
This couple was probably the most funny and endearing book couple that I’ve read about. The progress of their relationship is slow, and I do mean it was slow. Eragon, our lovely human main character pretty much fancied her from the moment he met her, and Arya, the beautiful elf, brushed him off everytime. They were on a quest together for the whole series and they got closer and closer until by the end, their relationship was blossoming. THEY ARE SO CUTE. END OF STORY.
Tris and Four from the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth
This may be a little mainstream, but hey, seriously, I LOVE THEM. They’re both badass characters, and they’re both awesome in their own ways. Together they’re just so amazing. You know you love them so much when you cry at the ending of Allegiant. That was me guys. I won’t spoil the ending, because I know how frustrating that this. Just remember that quote. I love this couple.
Clary and Jace from the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
Okay, so I may be a teeny tiny bit pro-Jace here. I’m sorry but I fell in love with Jace from the chapter that we were introduced to each other. But Clary and Jace I would third wheel for any day. There were so many twists and turns in their relationship and that’s probably one of the reasons I came to love them SO MUCH. Jace is also the cutest, most handsome character. Okay, time for me to stop. Just know, I was rooting for them as a couple until the very end!
Cassia and Ky from the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie
These two were seriously such a beautiful couple. From the moment they met, I was thinking, just get married now, you two are perfect. Cassia falls into Ky’s world unexpectedly when he is mistakenly matched to her as her “perfect mate”, when he’s not even allowed to be matched with anyone. Cassia is also matched with her best friend but her curiosity and obvious attraction to Ky distracts her and they develop this beautiful love together. It was not instant love, but they did come to develop feelings for each other quickly. But honestly, you need to read this serious, if only for their relationship. I LOVE THEM OKAY.
Zoey and Stark from the House of Night Series by P.C Cast
Okay, my heart speeds up when I think about this couple. So many feels. This is my one and only insta-love couple. Basically, from the moment Stark arrived at the House of Night and he and Zoey talked, they had that instant connection. Okay, so once again, I fell in love with Stark. He was just such a cocky, sarcastic, cute as heck boy, but I didn’t fall in love with him the way I fell in love with Jace. I fell in love with him in a way that I found him and Zoey being such a perfect couple. Every romantic experience they had made my heart flutter. SO. MANY. FEELS.
Leo and Calypso from the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan
I fell in love with Leo at first. Okay everyone, he’s just my bae. I love him, he is the funniest, cutest guy, from the very first book I warmed up to him. Then when he met Calypso, and he was in denial about his feelings for her but at the same time was obviously falling for her despite her being hateful towards him and wanting him to get away from her, he kept being his usual, adorable, funny, annoying self. And it was obvious Calypso had started to see something in him. The whole process of reading them falling in love had me squealing out loud. I couldn’t even handle it! And when he went back for her, my heart broke into a million heart shaped pieces!
Tell me your fabulous thoughts, bookworms!
